Executive Summary:
Dr. Yih-Chih Kuo graduated from the School of Medicine, National Yang-Ming University, and completed her neurology residency training at National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH). She subsequently served as an attending neurologist at National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch from 2020 to 2024 and is currently an attending neurologist at National Taiwan University Hospital. She is also pursuing her PhD training at the Institute of Physiology, National Taiwan University.
Dr. Kuo’s major clinical and academic interests are movement disorders, deep brain stimulation (DBS), clinical neurophysiology, and neuromodulation. She is a member of the DBS team at NTUH and is actively involved in the evaluation and management of patients undergoing DBS, including patient selection, perioperative assessment, postoperative programming, and long-term follow-up. Her clinical work also includes transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and electrophysiological assessment of neurological disorders.
Her research focuses on the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying movement disorders and motor control, using TMS and other electrophysiological approaches to investigate cortical excitability and motor network function. Her work has included studies on task-specific tremor, interhemispheric inhibition and motor control, and other topics in clinical neurophysiology.
Dr. Kuo is also actively involved in clinical education and training in movement disorders, DBS, TMS, and clinical neurophysiology at NTUH.
