Executive Summary:
After completing my residency training at Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, I began my graduate studies at Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, National Cheng Kung University in Tainan. My studies encompassed brain tumor and PD transgenic mice, and this triggers my interest in movement disorder. In clinical practice, atypical Parkinsonism is one of the most challenging diagnoses. The overlap between progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) has been reported occasionally, and our observation echoes this finding. During 2023-2025, I had the honor of becoming a research fellow at Mayo Clinic, MN, focusing on the studies of NPH. My mentor, Dr. Keith Josephs, is a movement disorder specialist whose research focuses extensively on tau and TDP-43, while my other mentor, Dr. Jennifer Whitwell, specializes in neuroimaging. Under their valuable instructions, I completed one NPH paper with many interesting findings.
